The Northshore Literary Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a central point for our vibrant literary community through social and educational events, support of each others work, and promotion of literacy throughout our area.
NLS presents a Sunday Salon six times per year featuring varied literary speakers and topics The Sunday Salons provide opportunities for education, information sharing and networking in a casual and socially engaging atmosphere.
Through our web site NLS promotes and encourages participation in community literary events such as the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, the Pirates Alley Faulkner Words and Music Festival and other local events by keeping our followers informed of literary community happenings and schedules.
Our facebook page is a conduit for members and guests to share information. Published authors are invited to announce their new works and awards. Literary focused organizations are encouraged to post notices of their own meetings and events. You can visit our page here.
NLS strives to support and provide resources to the parish library system, book clubs, writing groups and individuals to make literacy a mainstay in our community.
